As you can see, Carnival Paradise, which is a Fantasy-class vessel, is hardly a “big” ship. In fact, compared to Carnival Cruise Line’s new Excel-class and Vista-class, Carnival Paradise is tiny.
Balcony (8B)
There truly is always something to do aboard Carnival Paradise, no matter the day or time. Daytime activities include classes, from fitness classes to courses related to whatever destination you happen to be traveling to, so you can learn a little bit about the city or island before your arrival. Auctions are also held, and you can find live music just about anywhere. If you’re not into the theater, the space also hosts seminars, lectures, bingo, and game shows throughout cruises.
In the evenings, when you return to the cruise ship from your port of call, you’ll enjoy great cruise dining options, plus get the chance to try your luck in the casino and take part in classic cruise ship game shows. If you’re looking for the greatest room on the ship, look up. The Grand Vista Suite is the biggest, located on the uppermost deck… and all this altitude has a way of also elevating the view. As do floor-to-ceiling windows that make sure nothing gets in the way.
Oceanview (OV)
Paradise also has a nine-hole mini-golf course on Deck 14 (just above the spa and fitness area) in jazzy, bright colors and affording great views over the Lido Deck and over the sides of the ship. Nearby is one lonely basketball hoop and a couple of shuffleboard courts that didn't get much use. Next to the main pool is a giant chessboard, cornhole (beanbag toss) and table tennis, which were all popular. The lounge has a sophisticated feel, with seating that caters to larger groups with comfortable, circular booths as well as a handful of smaller, two-person bench seats.

Carnival Paradise boasts 12 chic bars and lounges, a casino, disco, Internet café, library and a game room. The large spa offers an array of treatments that will make you feel like a million bucks. Take a yoga or Pilates class and work-out at the state-of-the-art fitness center. Play mini-golf and shoot some hoops at the large sports park.
The bar here is massive and stretches across the rear of the room, so passengers can also take in the shows from a barstool. Deck layouts
Do note that if you book a junior suite, some do come with obstructed views, so you may find that, when you sit out on your balcony, you’re staring at a lifeboat instead of the ocean. Overall, junior suites offer more room, with sitting areas, larger bathrooms and more floor space. Since 2017, Carnival Cruise Line offers a new program allowing ship passengers to customize their steward service by choosing to have the cabin serviced in the morning, at night or both (twice a day). All guests can choose from a list of additional cabin amenities, among which are bathrobes, extra pillows, blankets, closet hangers. All guests can also specify how often the bed linens to be changed during the cruise.
One service that we were impressed with was the Carnival Hub app that's free to download on your phone. The incredibly useful app can be used offline and shows what's happening and when -- even before you receive the activity schedule in the cabin. It lets passengers "favorite" activities so they'll get a reminder as the time approaches, and they can even view dining room menus in advance. It takes up both sides of the atrium area on Deck 9, and there are a variety of souvenir frame choices. The gallery features touch-screen kiosks for viewing and selecting photos for printing. (This also can be done on your phone using the free Carnival Hub app.) The ship's art gallery is located in a narrow hall behind guest services on Deck 7.
"No smoking" signs were placed prominently on both sides of the ship and on the stern under the name. Most of the passengers on Paradise are from Florida and the East Coast, but plenty of cruisers fly in from other parts of the United States as well as from Canada and Europe. Although there are some older couples onboard, the primary age group is below 55.
Small Inside cabins have bunk beds (upper/lower Pullman beds), living area (vanity, chair), bathroom (shower). Entertainment includes Vegas-like productions at the two-story theater, as well as magicians, comedians, talent shows and more. Take part in a game show, try your luck at the casino, join in a sing-along at the piano bar, and dance the night away at the disco and chill-out at the relaxing jazz club. Greatly enhanced with a multi-million-dollar upgrade in 2015, she now features a variety of new dining, bar and entertainment options. The Carnival Paradise gym is located at the front of the ship and is accessed through the spa locker rooms; it offers plenty of machines facing the windows for a workout with a view.
There is a wall-mounted dispenser in the shower stall (for liquid soap and shampoo). Electric power outlets are located in the desk/vanity area – one 110 V outlet (3-pronged, USA grounded) and one 220 V outlet (European standard). The bathroom’s 2-pin plug can be used only for electric razors. During the CCL Paradise ship's drydock refurbishment in 2018 were added 38 new cabins, of which 2x Grand Vista Suites (GV), 22x Junior Suites, 2x Scenic Oceanview (6J), 12 Interior. Balconies were added to 98 existing cabins (on decks 5-Main, 6-Upper, 7-Empress).
